water prayers: a workshop ceremony with the spirit of water
As we are transitioning into a new year, a new cycle, we are invited to listen deeply to the magic brewing.
There is infinite magic available within the Earthly and Celestial realms, to remind us that we are being supported.
According to ancient Chinese philosophy, 2022 is characterized by the Yang Water Element, the wisdom of the strong stream, the river, the waterfall, the ocean.
From a longing to bring nourishment to our community as we navigate this tumultuous time, Jade of Waotea and Kate of Plantfolk have woven together an offering for you.
Jade and Kate will share pieces of Watery wisdom~
from Cha Dao, Chinese philosophy, Western folk plant medicine, and nature spirits,
to support the transition into 2022.
Jade will share about the Water from the lens of Chinese philosophy, introduce the year pillar Ren Yin 壬寅, watery wisdom from the plant Camellia Sinensis. We will explore how to work with the way of tea as a conscious elemental practice, and share the Water Element Tea Meditation from her book “Tea, Remembering the Essence of Life”.
Kate will share practices for working with water as an ally, through communing with the spirit of water as a conscious Elemental Being. We will call in plants who serve as gatekeepers to the watery dream realms, and discuss practices for working with these allies. Together we will journey to meet the water guardians, who may serve as guides through the flow of this new year unfolding.

An excerpt from Jade's book
“Tea, Remembering the Essence of Life” ~
Can we find three thousand words to speak of the waters,
yet remain unattached as the words dissolve,
carried away into the one innate sea,
the sea of Oneness
